Sherif is a Chartered Quality Professional by the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) in UK. He is a Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational excellence by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) in US. He is a certified Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute (PMI) in US. He is a civil engineer with post graduate studies which include a professional quality management diploma. He is a certified lead auditor, and registered as an accredited internal auditor for quality management programs by the International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA) in UK. Sherif is a quality training expert. He is passionate to train and mentor quality professionals. He conducted numerous quality trainings in MENA region in the last 7 years. His quality trainings are based on practical implementation of quality management in Mega projects such as; Dubai Mall, International Tripoli & Doha Airports.

He has worked with many international companies such as; Bovis Lend Lease & Aéroports de Paris-Ingénierie to help to establish a basis for implementing TQM, ISO, and Lean. Dr. Ellahham has been a champion of the use of Lean, Six Sigma and Change Management to improve healthcare quality. He is Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belted. He was the Leader of the First Pilot International Robust Process Improvement (RPI) project by the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare and several other similar successful performance improvement projects at SKMC. He is TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer.

Dr. Ellahham is certified as EFQM 2013 Model assessor and is leading EFQM Excellence Model at SKMC with great success including winning the prestigious Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award in 2014, Dubai Quality Award in 2015 and Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Golden Award in 2015.

Dr. Ellahham is the Executive SKMC sponsor of the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP®) the leading US validated, risk-adjusted, outcomes-based program to measure and improve the quality of surgical care. Dr. Ellahham is a Board-certified internist, cardiologist and vascular medicine senior consultant and continues to care for patients. He received his undergraduate degree in biology and his M.D. from the American University of Beirut.

He did his fellowship in Cardiology at the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) in USA. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Ellahham worked in Washington DC in several clinical and leadership positions before moving to UAE in 1988. He led the First AHA GWTG Heart Failure Initiative outside US and was the recipient of the AHA GWTG Award in Wash. DC. His clinical passion and expertise is in the field of heart failure management. He demonstrated great skill and experience in the management of patients with heart failure and led a multi-disciplinary team in the care and delivery of advanced therapies to these patients. Mahmoud Awad is an Assistant Professor in the department of Industrial Engineering at the American University of Sharjah. Shaddad had worked in different countries for Pharma industry after graduating with a Pharmacy degree. Outside UAE, he had worked for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, afterwards joining Hikma Pharmaceuticals in UAE in 2008.

He is currently responsible for CVD Unit & Alimentary tract portfolio marketing in KSA & GCC. Shaddad had received a corporate grant to complete his Postgrad studies while working with Hikma, and completed his Master degree in Strategic Marketing in 2015.

His main research topics during his postgrad were; Marketing audit, Pharmaceutical Marketing Strategies in MENA and digital marketing.

  Faten Abu-Ghazaleh
Faten currently heads Service Hero, an independent organization that runs the only national customer satisfaction index in the Arab world. Her experience focuses on customer satisfaction and loyalty, with emphasis on measuring satisfaction, creating a service excellence culture, and developing manpower aligned to a service excellence culture.

Faten oversees the Service Hero Customer Satisfaction Index which is run annually in the UAE and Kuwait measuring satisfaction across over 14 key private sector categories. To date the index has collected 150,000 assessments in order that she reports to company executives how satisfied their customers are. She is also a key advisor on the building blocks of a customer service culture and has devised and conducted training programs on the basics of customer service for hospital staff including physicians, and bank front line staff, branch managers.

Faten also leads the Marketing Consulting practice at Khayal Consultants where she has worked with leading firms in retail, financial, healthcare and services fields.   Prof Roy Ramphal

Professor Roy Ramphal is employed at the UNISA School of Business Leadership in South Africa. He is a Chemical Engineer by profession and has been involved for many years in the Sugar, Aluminum and Tyre industries. During this tenure he implemented the first ISO 9001:1987 standard in a food factory in the Southern Hemisphere. He was also involved for implementing and maintaining quality at a University, in a national research institute as well as in customer services during his career so far. As a Professor he is responsible for the circulation and creation of various operations and quality management qualifications for students and executives. He is also the creator of a quality model for shared services environments which was presented at international conferences in the United States, India and Europe. He has authored a number of books and published many articles in quality management.

Professor Roy Ramphal has been with Southern African Society for Quality (SASQ) since 2000. He was a SASQ Johannesburg Branch Chair for 3 years then a Vice President for 2 year and since 2005 is the SASQ national president. He was basically the backbone for the SASQ strategy and the redesign for the SASQ governance structure. He has participated and collaborates with the American Society for Quality, European Organization for Quality, India society for quality and the Canadian society for quality. Andrew Baines joined ASQ in January 2015 and has more than 30 years of work experience spanning the food industry, auditing and conformity assessment, and international business development.

Living in New Zealand for the past 23 years, Baines is originally from the United Kingdom, where he graduated from Dundee University in Scotland with an honors degree in microbiology. After graduating, Baines worked in the food industry in quality control, quality assurance, and product research and development before emigrating to New Zealand where he began a career auditing quality, environmental, and safety management systems. This led to business unit management and senior executive roles in a conformity assessment body, including establishing a New Zealand government-owned agency, turning it into one of the largest conformity assessment bodies in the Southern Hemisphere. Dr. Ahmad Al-Nuseirat is a world class expert and one of the few prominent references in building and improving excellence in the government sector in Dubai, UAE and the Middle East. Dr. Al-Nuseirat holds A PhD in Training and organizational performance management from Cardiff University in UK.

Dr. Al-Nuseirat has effectively participated in the establishment, leading and managing the operations and activities of Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP), the first integrated program for government excellence in the world launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 1997.   Professor Thomas L Holmes Jr - Keynote Speaker
Mr. Thomas L Holmes Jr’s thirty-six years of experience, knowledge, and education encompasses a wide range of aviation roles both military and civilian sectors. He has attended several aviation maintenance technology and safety courses during his 22 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and other Aviation Companies. He has been a certified FAA AMT for 29 years, proven experience in aviation corporate management, maintenance technology, aircraft maintenance, engineering and design, aircraft accident investigation, and aviation safety in the military, general aviation under Part 135, and commercial aviation under 14 CFR Part 145/EASA 145, Part M, Part 21 Sub Part J organizations.

Mr. Holmes has been living and working in the Middle East since 2003 originally for GE Aviation as the Regional Manager for the FMS 404/414 Aircraft Engine programs based out of Kuwait. He came to the UAE in 2005 on his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt tour with GE Aviation working with the UAE Air Force. He transitioned from GE to Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies in 2008 where he was appointed the Vice President of Business Performance and Continuous Improvement (Lean Master/Six Sigma Master Black Belt) deploying Lean & Six Sigma. Ian’s 50 plus years of experience has spanned design, construction, commissioning, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear power plants and other industry sectors. While at CEGB/Nuclear Electric, he was a senior authorised person for nuclear, mechanical and electrical systems up to 400 kV and held posts in operations, commissioning, management services, planning and quality assurance.
rom 1990, he was a quality and risk management consultant with the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority. He managed the peer review of the decommissioning safety case for the UK Steam Generating Reactor, was the quality manager for a European Notified Body administering product safety regulations, and worked on a variety of safety cases and management systems for major organisations. He served on the European Process Safety committee and the British Standards Committee that developed the occupational safety and health standard (BS 8800:1996). He was a member of an international team that reviewed the safety management arrangements of the Lithuanian Ignalina RBMK nuclear power plant following the Chernobyl accident.
He operated his own quality and risk management consultancy since 1999 with clients in the nuclear, construction, rail, oil and gas, medical devices, medical services and laboratory services sectors in the UK and overseas.
